Dundalk couple breaks lottery routine and hits $100K Holiday Raffle prize on random ticket
DUNDALK, MD — A Dundalk couple looking to change up their usual lottery play struck a $100,000 prize in Maryland’s Holiday Raffle after stepping away from their regular Powerball and Mega Millions routine.
After years of playing the same jackpot games, the couple decided to try the seasonal raffle instead, purchasing a $20 ticket from the North Point Diner at 2701 North Point Road. Days after the Jan. 2 drawing, they checked their ticket on mdlottery.com and saw it matched one of just ten second-tier prize numbers worth $100,000.
The winning ticket was among 237,206 sequentially numbered tickets sold statewide from Nov. 3 through Jan. 1 as part of the limited-time Holiday Raffle. The raffle featured a $1 million top prize, ten $100,000 second-tier prizes, and 10,000 lower-tier prizes ranging from $50 to $500.
After repeatedly checking the number online, the couple visited Maryland Lottery headquarters on Dec. 6 to officially claim the prize. Their ticket became one of the largest winners in the raffle’s short run.
Each ticket was uniquely numbered from 000001 to 237206, and the winning numbers were drawn Jan. 2. All tickets must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing.
A complete list of winning numbers, as well as a search function to check specific entries, is available on the Maryland Lottery website. Tickets can also be verified through the official Lottery app or by visiting any licensed retailer.
