Duo Arrested After Warrenton Traffic Stop

Stafford, VA- A traffic stop on Warrenton Road led to the detention of a 24-year-old woman from Woodbridge and a 27-year-old man from Fredericksburg on Tuesday at around 10:05 p.m. Deputy S.T. Myers stopped the vehicle near the Comfort Suites after observing a reckless lane change that caused another vehicle to take evasive action.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the male passenger exited and attempted to flee. Deputy Myers instructed him to stay, but the male fled on foot. While Myers remained with the driver, the description of the fleeing passenger was shared with nearby deputies.

Deputies, including First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf, searched the area and found the suspect near Black Rifle Coffee. The male resisted detention and provided false identification twice. Deputies identified him as Tahj Ford using a neck tattoo.

Ford, wanted in three jurisdictions, was found intoxicated with controlled substances. He faces multiple charges and both Ford and the driver, Michaele Simms, were jailed without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail for outstanding warrants.
