Duo assaults woman on L train in Brooklyn and steals her phone, police say

Police are searching for two individuals who attacked a woman aboard a Brooklyn subway train during a dispute and stole her phone before fleeing, the NYPD said.

The incident occurred Tuesday, July 1, at approximately 10:50 a.m., after a 45-year-old female victim boarded a northbound L train at the Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway station.

According to police, two unidentified individuals already on board engaged the victim in a verbal dispute. During the altercation, one of the suspects pushed and kicked the victim, causing her to fall to the floor and drop her cellphone.

While the victim was on the ground, the second suspect punched her multiple times in the face and took her phone. Both suspects exited the train at Sutter Avenue station and fled on foot. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The first individual is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black bonnet, a white multicolored shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

The second individual is described as a female with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black bonnet, white T-shirt, black pants, and black and white sneakers.

Police have released images and are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects.
