LAKEWOOD, N.J. — Each Stitch Counts, a nonprofit addressing hygiene insecurity, has partnered with The Arc, Ocean County Chapter’s Employment Center to expand its community impact while providing job opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Debbie Trainor, founder of Each Stitch Counts, needed a warehouse and a dependable workforce to help manage donations of dish soap, laundry detergent, and handmade dishcloths for local food pantries. That need led to a collaboration with Lou Archiello of The Arc’s Employment Center.

“Debbie was sharing her story at the Toms River Chamber networking event, and I knew immediately The Arc could help her, and the families of Ocean County, in a meaningful way,” Archiello said.

The Arc Employment Center, a facility in the Lakewood Industrial Park, offers production work and services while providing wages for adults with disabilities. Clients will assist Each Stitch Counts with packaging, order management, and deliveries.

“We are honored to partner with Each Stitch Counts, a fellow non-profit supporting our community in need, and grateful for the opportunity to provide more work to our clients at The Arc Employment Center,” the organization said.
