East Baltimore man wins $50,000 scratch-off jackpot, plans to buy new home

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore hairstylist is celebrating a $50,000 win after purchasing a 50X The Cash scratch-off, securing funds for a down payment on a new home for his family.

The East Baltimore resident bought the $10 ticket at O’Connor’s Check Cashing & Liquors on 4801 Eastern Avenue while shopping with his son. He scratched the ticket inside the store and revealed the second-tier prize.

His wife, who was on vacation at the time, was thrilled when he shared the news. “We are going to buy a house,” he said after claiming his prize.

The 50X The Cash game, launched on Jan. 22, 2024, has now seen eight players win the $50,000 second-tier prize. Two $50,000 prizes and one $100,000 top prize remain unclaimed.
