Elderly Man Assaulted and Robbed on NYC Subway Platform

New York, NY – An elderly man fell victim to a violent robbery on a New York City subway platform, resulting in the theft of his cellphone and injuries.

Late Saturday night, around 11:30 PM, a 71-year-old male was on the southbound “A” subway platform at Broadway and West 207th Street when two assailants approached him. The incident unfolded as he retrieved his phone from a subway chair, only to be confronted by the individuals demanding he unlock the device. Upon his refusal and attempt to reclaim his phone, the duo pushed him to the ground and forcibly took the phone before fleeing onto a train.

The victim, who sustained facial injuries during the assault, was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition. Descriptions of the suspects have been released in hopes of aiding their capture.

The first is a female, around 5’5″ tall with a slim build and dark complexion, last seen wearing a black long coat, black and white sneakers, and carrying a black purse.

The second suspect is a male, approximately 5’ 8” tall with dreadlocks, an average build, and dark complexion, last seen in a black winter coat, white sweater featuring Bugs Bunny, black pants, and white sneakers. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
