Ellendale man arrested for theft of campers, one still missing

January 20, 2025

GREENWOOD, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 39-year-old Leon Leager of Ellendale in connection with the theft of two pull-behind campers earlier this month in Greenwood.

Troopers responded to a property in the 10000 block of Blacksmith Shop Road on January 12, 2025, after the reported theft of two campers. Investigators determined that on January 10, a 28-foot Keystone Kodiak camper was stolen from the property, followed by the theft of a 32-foot Prowler camper on January 11. Surveillance and witness accounts described an unknown black pickup truck involved in both thefts.

Through investigative efforts, police identified Leager as the suspect and recovered the stolen Prowler camper, which had sustained damage during the theft. The Keystone Kodiak camper remains missing, and detectives are asking the public for any information regarding its whereabouts.

Leager was arrested on January 15 and charged with multiple felonies, including burglary, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $10,150 unsecured bond.
