Evesham Junior Police Academy Begins

EVESHAM, NJ – The 14th Evesham Township Junior Police Academy class has shown up for duty and learning what it takes to become a police officer.

The camp introduces teens and children to the work done by police officers in their community each day.

“Yesterday was the first day of the week long journey for Evesham Township Police Junior Police Academy Class 14,” the department said. “We practiced drill and ceremony with Officer Kinner and Sgt. Campbell. We worked on our physical fitness and team building skills with Officer Ekiz, Officer Verducci, Officer Tomeo and members of our Police Explorer Program who helped us along the way.”

Students also learned about the dangers of drugs and prevention measures with Det. Magnus and Sgt. Gorman.

They were then introduced to the K-9 Program with Officers Borden and Giamello and got to met K-9 Spike!.

“We learned about the patrol car and witnessed a traffic stop demonstration with Officer Strockbine and Officer Tomeo and participated in tour of the entire Police Station to include a special visit to Chief Miller’s Office. It was a great start to an exciting week,” the department said.
