LANDOVER, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a collision that has now turned fatal. The incident, involving a sedan and an SUV, occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Sheriff Road.

David Walton Jr., 34, from Capitol Heights, was driving the sedan involved in the collision on December 11, 2023, at approximately 10:30 pm. Initially surviving the crash, Walton was transported to a hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries on December 17, 2023.

The driver of the SUV sustained injuries, but they are not considered life-threatening. The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is calling for anyone with information about the collision to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422. The investigation aims to determine the cause of the crash and to provide closure to the affected families.
