Fatal Crash in Camden Under Investigation by State Police

CAMDEN, DE—Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Camden, resulting in the death of a local man.

The crash took place on June 26 at around 5:00 AM on Walnut Shade Road, west of Barney Jenkins Road. A 2009 Cadillac Escalade, driven by an 18-year-old from Bear, Delaware, was heading eastbound when it reportedly veered across the centerline into the opposing traffic lane. At the same time, a 2016 Honda Accord driven by 31-year-old Brian Moore of Magnolia, Delaware, was traveling westbound.

The vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lane, leading to the death of Moore, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified of the tragic event.

The young driver of the Cadillac sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Additionally, a 19-year-old female passenger from Harrington, who was in the Cadillac, was airlifted to the hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities closed the roadway for about three hours to facilitate an on-scene investigation and to clear the wreckage. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
