Fatal Crash in Felton Kills One, Alcohol Suspected Factor

Felton, DE – Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man from Dover.

On Saturday evening, a Nissan Versa driven by Steven Satterfield veered off Firetower Road, failing to navigate a curve properly, and subsequently collided with a tree. Initial findings suggest that alcohol played a role in the crash, and Satterfield was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Despite being rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries, Satterfield succumbed to his injuries the following day.

The accident led to a temporary closure of the roadway for about 2.5 hours to allow for a thorough investigation and cleanup efforts.
