Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in Laurel Claims Life of Local Man

LAUREL, MD—A fatal pedestrian-related crash in the early hours of July 21, 2024, has resulted in the death of a Laurel man, marking a tragic hit-and-run incident in Anne Arundel County. Devin Michael Jones, 34, was the victim of the crash that occurred at approximately 3:40 AM at the intersection of Laurel Fort Meade Road and the access road to Delta Bingo.

Upon arrival, first responders transported Jones to Howard General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident involved an unknown vehicle that made a right turn from eastbound Laurel Fort Meade Road onto the road between 3607 and 3601 on the same road, and then fled the scene.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section, which is currently investigating the case, has reported that the fleeing vehicle likely suffered damage to its undercarriage and front bumper.
