WASHINGTON, DC — A shooting in Northeast D.C. on Monday evening claimed the life of a 27-year-old man, as police work to determine the events leading up to the tragedy.
Just after 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the 4500 block of Quarles Street NE, where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Although conscious and breathing when officers arrived, the victim later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.
The victim has been identified as Landen Mayo, a resident of Southeast D.C. Police have not yet released information on a suspect or motive as the investigation remains ongoing.
