EDGEWATER, MD—A tragic stabbing occurred at an apartment on South River Street in Edgewater, leading to the death of 47-year-old Nancianne S Houston and serious injuries to a 58-year-old male. The incident was reported on August 9, 2024, around 5:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered both individuals with stab wounds. Despite immediate medical aid provided at the scene, Ms. Houston was pronounced dead by Fire Department personnel. The male victim was rushed to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries to his upper body and an extremity.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Initial findings suggest that the male and female victims knew each other and were involved in an altercation at the time of the incident.
