FBI seeks fugitive wanted for armed robbery of bank in South Jersey

BRIDGETON, N.J. — The FBI is searching for a suspect who robbed a Cumberland County bank at gunpoint Tuesday morning before fleeing the scene on a blue bicycle.

According to the FBI’s Newark office, the robbery occurred just after 9:30 a.m. at the Newfield National Bank located at 720 Shiloh Pike in Bridgeton. The unidentified man entered the bank armed and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities said the suspect was last seen riding away from the scene on a blue bicycle. No injuries were reported during the robbery.

The FBI and New Jersey State Police are leading the investigation. “WANTED by the FBI: Armed Bank Robber,” the agency wrote in a public bulletin, urging residents to contact authorities with any tips.
