Feedspot Earns Terrible Better Business Bureau Rating Over Unscrupulous Billing Practices

September 16, 2024

MILL VALLEY, Calif. — Feedspot, an internet marketing services company, has garnered attention for mixed customer experiences, reflected in its 2.46-star rating from 13 customer reviews on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. The company, operating for 20 years and based in Mill Valley, California, is not accredited by the BBB and holds a B- rating.

The company, led by founder Anuj Agarwal, has faced 20 complaints in the past three years, with 12 filed in the last 12 months. Common issues involve billing disputes, unauthorized charges, and dissatisfaction with services. Customers have reported difficulties obtaining refunds, despite Feedspot’s policy of no refunds for subscription services.

One customer complaint from May 2024 involved a charge to a hospitalized relative’s credit card without authorization. Another complaint from March 2024 alleged a fraudulent $945.61 charge after a subscription cancellation, which led to a lengthy dispute with the credit card company. Feedspot eventually issued a refund after winning the initial dispute.

Several other complaints echo similar issues, including a customer who reported being charged $57.52 after canceling a subscription and another who claimed they were charged for a service they did not authorize after accidentally landing on the Feedspot website.

Despite these complaints, Feedspot has responded to all cases, sometimes offering refunds, especially when disputes were resolved with customers through communication.

Feedspot maintains that many charges were legitimate based on subscription agreements and that some delays in refunds were due to dispute processes with banks, but relied on their users not reading the fine print about auto-renewals and a no-refund policy on those renewals.

Feedspot’s services include providing marketing tools and databases of journalists, bloggers, and influencers. However, its no-refund policy and occasional lapses in communication have caused frustration for several users.

For more information or to file a complaint, customers can visit the BBB website or contact Feedspot directly through the information provided on their business profile.
