Felton Man Arrested on Gun Charges After Traffic Stop in Milton

MILTON, DE – Alonzo Coker, 32, of Felton, was arrested on felony gun charges following a traffic stop on Coastal Highway in Milton on Tuesday morning.

Delaware State Police conducted the arrest on Tuesday, at approximately 7:10 a.m. A trooper, while patrolling near Coastal Highway and Eagle Crest Road, noticed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and initiated a traffic stop.

During the interaction with Coker, the driver, it was discovered that his driver’s license had been revoked. A subsequent search revealed a concealed firearm under items on the vehicle’s floorboard.

A computer check confirmed that Coker was prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7.

Coker faces charges including Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Driving with a Suspended or Revoked Driver’s License, and Speeding. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $25,101 cash bond.
