EDGEWOOD, MD — Last night at 609 Mulberry Lane, a fire broke out in a split-level single-family dwelling, resulting in significant damages. The incident, reported at 11:32 PM, led to approximately $125,000 in losses, with $75,000 attributed to the structure and an additional $50,000 to contents.

According to the Abingdon Fire Company, the primary responding unit, 28 firefighters controlled the blaze within 10 minutes.

The fire alarm was activated, aiding in the early detection, though it is noted that no sprinkler system was present in the home.

The area of origin was identified as a bedroom, and while the cause of the fire is still under investigation, no injuries have been reported. The homeowners were not present at the time of the incident.
