CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Firefighters responded to a high-rise fire overnight at the Towers of Windsor Apartment Building in Cherry Hill, quickly extinguishing a blaze that broke out on the fourth floor. Crews were initially dispatched to the scene following an automatic fire alarm.

Engine 1322 was the first unit to arrive, finding smoke emanating from the fourth floor. The incident was promptly upgraded, with additional resources requested. Firefighters located and extinguished a small fire in one of the apartments. No injuries were reported.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department emphasized the importance of fire safety for residents, particularly those living in high-rise buildings. “Residents should ensure they have working smoke detectors and be familiar with exit paths,” the department stated in a safety advisory. They noted that elevators often become inoperable during fires, making stairways the primary evacuation routes.

During the incident, other Cherry Hill Fire Department and EMS units continued to respond to additional calls in the area. The Mount Laurel Fire Department assisted with one of those calls while crews addressed the fire.
