NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Five members of the Black P. Stone Nation gang have pled guilty to federal charges in connection with the abduction and murder of a woman in York County, Virginia, on May 6, 2023. The guilty pleas were announced by U.S. Attorney Jessica D. Aber for the Eastern District of Virginia, alongside officials from the FBI, ATF, and York County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents, Hezekiah Carney, 25, of Norfolk; Jamica Langley, 25, of Richmond; Donnisha Goodman, 27, of Portsmouth; Acacia Jackson, 19, of New York; and Jayquan Jones, 21, of Richmond, were involved in the brutal killing of the victim, who had been targeted for a gang-related infraction.
In the early morning of May 6, 2023, Carney, Langley, Goodman, and Jackson traveled to the victim’s residence on Bethel Street in Richmond, where they physically assaulted her. Approximately an hour later, they returned with Jones, wearing masks and some armed. After attacking the victim again, they abducted her and drove her to a remote area off Old Williamsburg Road in York County. There, they executed her, leaving her with eight gunshot wounds to the head, abdomen, back, buttocks, and legs.
Following the murder, Carney instructed the others on how to evade law enforcement, including burning their clothes and staying silent. The next morning, deputies from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office discovered the victim’s body and multiple shell casings with an “S&B” headstamp. Later that day, the Norfolk Police Department stopped the Hyundai Sonata used in the crime, recovering a 9mm cartridge with the same “S&B” headstamp.
Carney, Goodman, and Jones each pled guilty to using a firearm causing death, facing a minimum of 35 years and up to 45 years in federal prison. They are scheduled to be sentenced in January 2025.
Jackson and Langley pled guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping and each faces up to life in prison. Jackson is scheduled to be sentenced on October 31, and Langley on November 7.
The case was handled by the Richmond Area Violent Enterprise (RAVE) Task Force, with significant assistance from the FBI’s Norfolk and Richmond Field Offices, ATF’s Washington Field Division, and the York County Sheriff’s Office. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge, who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
