Police arrest 16-year-old after foot chase while investigators continue searching for others
BALTIMORE, Md. — A 16-year-old has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after Baltimore police arrested him in connection with the shooting of another teenager, but investigators say five additional suspects remain at large.
The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest Thursday in connection with a July 22 shooting in the 5900 block of Bowleys Lane that left a 16-year-old boy critically wounded.
According to police, officers responded to the scene at about 7:17 p.m. after reports of a shooting and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The teenager was transported to a nearby hospital, where police said he remained in critical condition.
Investigators identified a 16-year-old male as one of the suspects in the shooting.
On July 29, officers located the suspect in the 3400 block of Noble Street. Police said he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
The teen was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Baltimore police said detectives are continuing the investigation and are actively searching for five additional suspects believed to have been involved in the attempted murder.
