Virginia Beach man wanted on 28 felony warrants captured after Flock camera alert
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — A man with nearly 30 felony warrants tied to credit card fraud was arrested late Saturday night after police tracked his vehicle using license plate recognition technology that had been triggering alerts for days.
Around 10 p.m. on December 27, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Third Precinct identified a vehicle flagged multiple times by Flock Safety cameras. The system had been alerting officers all week to a car registered to a man with a staggering 28 active felony warrants.
Officers located the vehicle and quickly identified and arrested the suspect, 24-year-old Juan Paballo Galvis-Munoz of Virginia Beach. Police say he was taken into custody without incident and served with the 28 felony charges, all related to credit card fraud.
Officials credit the use of Flock technology for providing the breakthrough in the case, but emphasized that it was the officers’ follow-through and investigative efforts that ultimately led to the arrest.
Details about the scale or scope of the alleged fraud have not been released. Authorities have not disclosed whether Galvis-Munoz is believed to have acted alone or as part of a larger operation.
He remains in custody pending further proceedings. Police reiterated that all charges are allegations at this stage.
