Former NHL Player Jim Dowd A No-Show After Alleged Assault of High School Player

WALL-Point Pleasant Beach-Manasquan high school hockey coach and former New Jersey Devil Jim Dowd was absent at last night’s game in Red Bank against Rumson Fair Haven at the Red Bank Armory.

Dowd, last week, was accused of kicking a 16 year old player in the back, a charged listed as a simple assault and disorderly person’s offense on the complaint-summons filed with the Wall Township Police Department.

Dowd played 17 seasons in the NHL including six with the Devils and was on the 1994-95 Stanley Cup champion team.
