BRONX, N.Y. – Four people were shot during an armed robbery in the Bronx after members of one group allegedly confronted another group, stole property and opened fire, according to the New York City Police Department.
The violence unfolded at approximately 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, near 1641 East 233rd Street. NYPD Crime Stoppers said a group of unidentified individuals approached another group before some members began “forcibly removing property” from the victims.
During the robbery, two unidentified suspects displayed and fired two guns, striking four victims, police said. The group then fled in three vehicles heading westbound on East 233rd Street.

Bronx Robbery Erupts in Gunfire on East 233rd Street
According to the NYPD Crime Stoppers account, the confrontation involved two groups near 1641 East 233rd Street.
“While some of the individuals from the first group were forcibly removing property from the second group, two unidentified individuals from the first group displayed and discharged two firearms, striking four victims,” Crime Stoppers said.
Police did not specify in the announcement what property was taken or provide additional information about the circumstances leading to the confrontation.
The conditions of the four shooting victims were also not disclosed in the Crime Stoppers alert.
After the gunfire, the suspects escaped in three vehicles and traveled west on East 233rd Street, according to police.
NYPD Releases Images in Search for Robbery Suspects
NYPD Crime Stoppers released images of two individuals investigators are seeking in connection with the robbery and shooting.
The two pictured individuals are accused of displaying and firing the guns during the robbery, according to the department’s public alert. Police indicated additional unidentified people were involved in the initial confrontation and robbery.
The NYPD is asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
Spanish-speaking callers can use 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips may also be submitted through the NYPD Crime Stoppers website.
Police have not announced arrests in the Crime Stoppers notice. The individuals being sought are suspects, and allegations against them have not been proven in court.
