ELMONT, N.Y. – A 56-year-old woman was punched and robbed of approximately $1,400 after four unidentified men stormed into a Hempstead Avenue deli and attacked her before fleeing westbound on foot, police said. The incident occurred when the group entered the business and immediately assaulted the victim, striking her in the face before forcibly removing the cash and escaping toward an unknown direction. The woman suffered bruising to her eye and face but declined medical treatment at the scene.
Investigators are searching for four men with medium complexions who were seen wearing dark clothing and face coverings. The first suspect was last seen in black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black sneakers. The second wore a black jacket, gray pants, a black face mask, and black sneakers. The third was dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, a black face mask, and black sneakers. The fourth suspect was similarly dressed in gray clothing with a black face mask but also wore distinctive yellow gloves.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the suspects or their whereabouts to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers. All calls will remain confidential.
