WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Northwest Washington after a swift investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon in the 1300 block of W Street, Northwest. Police say the suspects approached the victim at approximately 12:44 p.m., brandished handguns, and stole the victim’s property before fleeing in a waiting SUV.

Shortly after the robbery, the Real Time Crime Center identified and located the suspects’ vehicle in the 1200 block of 4th Street, Northwest. Surveillance images captured the suspects leaving the vehicle, which led police to locate and arrest the four juveniles.

The teens, ranging in age from 15 to 17, face multiple charges, including armed robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and weapons violations. Additional charges include possession of a controlled substance, tampering with a GPS, and receiving stolen property. Police also recovered two handguns, the stolen SUV, and some of the victim’s property.

The vehicle used in the robbery had been reported stolen from Prince George’s County, Maryland.
