REHOBOTH, DE — Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday at the Big Chill Surf Cantina parking lot in Rehoboth. At approximately 12:51 a.m. on June 28, 2024, troopers were dispatched to the scene at 19406 Coastal Highway following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, authorities were informed of a 27-year-old man who had already been transported to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. During the conflict, an unidentified black male reportedly drew a handgun from a bag and fired a single shot at the victim. Subsequently, all individuals involved in the altercation fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, treated for his injuries, and later released.
