Fugitive Unit Officers Arrest Two for Firearm and Drug Offenses

November 8, 2024

Boston, MA –  Fugitive unit officers from the Boston Police Department arrested two individuals, Evan Velez, age 37, and Emmanuel Arnauld, age 30, for firearm and drug-related offenses on Thursday at 3:00 PM. The arrests took place in connection with a surveillance operation near 58 Cedar St., Roxbury.

The officers were on the lookout for Evan Velez, wanted on a firearm-related arrest warrant. Surveillance noted Velez walking toward a pickup truck in a parking lot, where he entered the front passenger side. The officers intervened at this point, removing Velez from the vehicle and taking him into custody.

Upon searching, Velez carried an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency believed intended for drug distribution. Additional investigation led to the discovery of 513 grams of cocaine beneath the driver’s seat of the truck owned by Emmanuel Arnauld, who was subsequently arrested.

Both individuals face arraignment in Roxbury District Court. Velez has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license and conspiracy to violate drug laws, while Arnauld faces charges for possession of cocaine and drug trafficking.
