Fugitive wanted on probation violations captured in stowe township

PITTSBURGH — A Stowe Township man declared a fugitive last week has been apprehended by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced Saturday.

Joshua Poole, 31, had been sought since December 27, 2024, after Judge Todd issued three bench warrants for probation violations. The charges tied to his violations include drug offenses, possession of a weapon by an inmate, aggravated harassment by an inmate, and a firearms violation.

Detectives developed information earlier this week that Poole was staying at a residence along 11th Street in Stowe Township. Acting on that tip, detectives arrived at the location Saturday and, after announcing their presence for several minutes with no response, forced entry into the home.

Poole was found inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he is being held on the outstanding warrants.

The arrest ends a weeklong search for Poole, who had been evading law enforcement since the issuance of his warrants.

Sheriff Kraus commended the work of his detectives, stating, “This successful apprehension highlights the diligence and persistence of our team in ensuring community safety.”
