Fully Vaccinated, Twice Boosted Kamala Harris Tests Positive for COVID-19

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has contracted the COVID-19 virus, officials said on Tuesday. Harris, who has had two booster shots and is fully vaccinated, tested positive after taking a PCR test on Tuesday.

“Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for Covid-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the vice president’s residence,” said Kirsten Allen, one of the remaining staffers on her team said in a statement Tuesday morning.

Harris was not in contact with President Joe Biden, Allen said.

“She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative,” Allen said.

She will go into quarantine at the Vice President’s home at the Naval Observatory.
