Gaithersburg man’s dream delivers $50K lottery jackpot

A Gaithersburg man’s long-held dream came true after he hit a $50,000 Pick 5 jackpot with numbers he had been playing faithfully

Gaithersburg, MD — A Montgomery County man’s vivid dream turned into a $50,000 reality after he hit the Pick 5 top prize with numbers he had seen in his sleep, Maryland Lottery officials announced Tuesday.

The winner, a custodian from Gaithersburg, claimed his prize on April 28 after matching all five numbers in exact order during the Evening Pick 5 drawing held April 24. He said he had dreamed about five specific numbers and money about a year ago and has been playing the same set ever since.

After checking the Maryland Lottery app and seeing his numbers appear, he described the moment as incredibly exciting.

Key points:

  • Gaithersburg man wins $50,000 Pick 5 prize using dream-inspired numbers
  • Winning ticket matched all five numbers in exact order on April 24
  • Ticket purchased at My Dollar & More on North Frederick Avenue

Years of playing same numbers finally pay off

The lucky winner said he had only three vivid dreams in his life and all of them eventually came true. Convinced his dream was pointing him toward the lottery, he continued playing the same five numbers every time he played Pick 5.

When the results matched exactly, he said he was thrilled to finally see his persistence rewarded.

The winning ticket was purchased at My Dollar & More, located at 250 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, a store now celebrating the major win along with their customer.

Lottery dreams fueling real-life wins in Maryland

Maryland Lottery officials encourage players to continue trying their luck responsibly, whether they pick numbers based on special memories, dreams, or quick picks.

Pick 5 continues to be one of the lottery’s most popular draw games, offering players two drawings each day and a variety of ways to win.
