Glen Burnie Woman Pulls Knife on Carjackers After Being Forced to Drive to Baltimore

September 21, 2023

GLEN BURNIE, MD – A woman turned the tables on a group of juvenile male suspects who carjacked her in a grocery store parking lot on September 20, driving them to Baltimore before brandishing her own knife to scare them away.

At around 7:30 p.m., officers arrived at the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in response to a carjacking report. The victim stated she was in the parking lot of the Giant grocery store when four or five juvenile males approached her. The youths demanded money and a ride to Baltimore. Upon her refusal, one of the juveniles produced a small knife and coerced the victim into her vehicle.

Instead of succumbing to the threat, the victim drove the suspects to their requested destination in Baltimore. Upon arrival, she drew her own knife, causing the young assailants to flee. The incident resulted in no reported injuries.

Northern District detectives are actively investigating the matter and encourage anyone with information to contact 410-222-6135 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
