NEW YORK, NY – A 41-year-old man was slashed in the neck and head during a physical altercation on the southbound “4, 5, 6” platform at Grand Central Station, with the assailant fleeing the scene.
Now, the NYPD is asking the public to keep an eye out for the slashing suspect who was captured on a nearby surveillance video camera.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 14, at approximately 8:50 a.m. The victim got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified male, which escalated into physical violence. The assailant then used an unknown object to slash the victim’s neck and head before fleeing the station on foot.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYU Langone Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, salt and pepper hair, and a goatee. He is estimated to be between 35 and 45 years old, stands 5’10” to 6’ tall, and weighs approximately 200 pounds. His last known attire includes a gray t-shirt and black pants.
