Waldorf woman wanted for stabbing death of grandmother in Fort Washington home

Fort Washington, MD – Prince George’s County Police are searching for 28-year-old Breante Thomas of Waldorf, who is wanted for the fatal stabbing of her grandmother and the stabbing of another family member during a violent attack on Sunday.

On September 14, at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 500 block of Bonhill Drive. Inside the home, they found 81-year-old Helen Thomas suffering from stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, an adult male relative, was also stabbed during the incident. He was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Police say the suspect fled the scene in a white 2012 Volkswagen Passat with Maryland tags 3FF3906. Thomas is charged with first- and second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder, and related charges.
