Group of six robs man at knifepoint inside Chambers Street subway station

NEW YORK, NY — A 22-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint early Tuesday inside the Chambers Street subway station, according to police.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:47 a.m. when six unidentified males approached the victim as he stood by the turnstiles. Authorities said one of the suspects grabbed the man from behind and pressed a knife against his back, while another suspect took his cellphone and debit card.

Following the robbery, the group fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on Warren Street. No injuries were reported, police confirmed.

The suspects are described as males with medium complexions. Investigators noted that one of the individuals was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with a Reebok logo.

The NYPD continues to investigate the incident and search for the suspects involved in the early morning robbery.
