Gun-Wielding Carjackers Sought by D.C. Police

Washington, D.C. — Efforts are underway to identify suspects involved in an armed carjacking in Southeast D.C.

Early on Friday, July 19, at around 2:04 a.m., a man was in his vehicle on the 1000 block of Half Street, Southeast, approached by multiple individuals. During the confrontation, one assailant brandished a rifle, compelling the victim to exit his car. The group then fled with the vehicle.

Images of three suspects were captured by surveillance cameras, and these photos are now being circulated.

Public members with any leads are encouraged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or to send a tip via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this violent crime.
