WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man who allegedly pointed a handgun at another individual early Wednesday in Southeast D.C. was arrested after a brief barricade situation at a nearby residence.

The incident occurred around 1:42 a.m. on July 9 in the 2900 block of Knox Place SE. A suspect approached victims, brandished a firearm, and then fled before officers arrived.

Responding officers from the Seventh District located the suspect at a nearby location. A barricade was declared, and members of the Emergency Response Team responded. After several hours, the suspect surrendered peacefully. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Following an investigation, 27-year-old Renando Corbin of Southeast D.C. was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.
