Gunman attacks 73-year-old woman during violent Rockaway Parkway robbery

Brooklyn, NY – A 73-year-old woman was assaulted and threatened at gunpoint during a robbery inside a Rockaway Parkway location Saturday morning, police said.

The attack happened around 8:40 a.m. at 1938 Rockaway Parkway, where the victim was approached by an unidentified man who forcibly snatched her cellphone and shoved her to the ground. While she was down, the assailant kicked her several times, causing pain.

The suspect then displayed a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and made a verbal threat before fleeing southbound on Rockaway Parkway to an unknown destination.

Emergency medical crews treated the woman at the scene, and she did not require hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, camouflage pants, and a black hat.

Police are canvassing the area and reviewing security footage in an effort to locate the suspect.
