A monfirearms, body armor, cocaine and hundreds of grams of a fentanyl-cocaine mixture, authorities said.
ABERDEEN, Md. – A drug investigation at an apartment complex near Aberdeen ended with the seizure of three firearms, ballistic body armor and large quantities of cocaine and fentanyl, according to the Harford County Task Force.
Detectives arrested Kevin G. Scott Jr., 35, of Aberdeen, after executing a search warrant Monday at his home in the 200 block of Mayberry Drive. Investigators said they recovered approximately 431 grams of a fentanyl-cocaine mixture with an estimated street value exceeding $80,000, along with another 270 grams of cocaine.

Authorities also reported seizing a substantial amount of U.S. currency and additional evidence they said was consistent with narcotics distribution. The investigation began in June following reports of illegal drugs being distributed at an apartment complex near Aberdeen.
Investigation Led Detectives to Aberdeen Home
The Harford County Task Force said detectives launched a proactive investigation after receiving information about suspected narcotics distribution in the area.
Investigators eventually identified Scott as their primary suspect.
According to the task force, detectives developed probable cause during the investigation and obtained a court-authorized warrant to search Scott and his residence.
The warrant was executed Aug. 25 at the Mayberry Drive property.
Inside, investigators said they recovered an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns. One of the handguns was described by authorities as unserialized, a type of firearm commonly referred to as a ghost gun.
Ballistic body armor was also seized.
The task force did not provide additional details about the firearms, including whether any had been reported stolen or whether investigators believe they were connected to another crime.
Detectives Report Hundreds of Grams of Cocaine and Fentanyl
The narcotics seizure included approximately 270 grams of cocaine and another 431 grams of what authorities described as a fentanyl-cocaine mixture.
Investigators estimated the street value of the fentanyl-cocaine mixture alone at more than $80,000.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that has played a major role in fatal overdoses across Maryland and the rest of the country. Mixing fentanyl with other drugs can create an especially dangerous combination for users who may not know the opioid is present.
Authorities also seized what they described as a substantial amount of cash, although the task force did not disclose an exact amount.
Additional evidence allegedly consistent with illegal drug distribution was recovered during the search, according to the release.
Suspect Held Without Bond in Harford County
Scott was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Harford County Detention Center following the search.
He was being held without bond as of Friday, according to the task force.
The agency’s release did not provide a detailed list of the criminal charges filed against Scott. The allegations against him have not been proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless and until convicted.
The Harford County Task Force operates as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program and includes federal, state and local law enforcement working together on mid- and upper-level drug trafficking, vice and related investigations.
The task force said the Aberdeen investigation was part of its continuing effort to identify and disrupt suspected drug distribution operations in local communities.
The investigation began in June near Aberdeen.
