Hate Crime Safe Places Added Inside West Long Branch Pizzeria

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Luppo Pizzeria and Joe’s Pizzeria & Cucina Italiana III in West Long Branch have been registered as the newest locations in the county’s “Safe Place Program”.

According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, “The program is designed as a partnership with local businesses in providing a safe place for the reporting of bias incidents and hate crimes. Participating locations display brightly colored decals in an entrance area, to show that the location will provide a safe environment for individuals to call 911 for assistance.”

The West Long Branch Police Department encourages interested businesses, social organizations, and schools to participate in the Safe Place program.

Participation is FREE and “the only requirement is twofold: if a victim of any crime (especially a hate crime) enters the premises, call 911 immediately; and allow the victim to remain on the premises until police arrive”.

To learn more about participating, visit: https://mcponj.org/safe-place-initiative/ or contact the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at SafePlace@mcponj.org or the West Long Branch Police at police@westlongbranch.org.
