STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A high-speed pursuit late Wednesday night ended with the arrest of a 21-year-old Stafford County man who now faces a litany of charges, including felony eluding, DUI, and concealed weapon violations.
The incident began at 11:11 p.m. when Deputy D.S. Jett spotted a black Acura sedan speeding at 60 mph in a 45-mph zone on White Oak Road near New Hope Church Road. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Michael Louis, refused to stop and instead accelerated, leading officers on a chase that stretched across multiple roads.
The pursuit weaved through Bethel Church Road, New Hope Church Road, and Camp Selden Road before the suspect looped back toward White Oak Road. Deputy S.A. Fulford joined the pursuit and executed a precision immobilization technique (PIT maneuver) near Charlie’s Crab House, bringing the chase to a halt.
Louis, who was already wanted in Stafford County for unauthorized use of a vehicle and failure to appear in court, was taken into custody without further incident. His new charges include reckless driving, driving suspended, no insurance, and multiple traffic violations. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
An adult female passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance. She was held at the jail until sober.
