High-speed crash on Northern Parkway claims life of 27-year-old woman

BALTIMORE — A 27-year-old woman died early Saturday after a high-speed crash on the 2700 block of W. Northern Parkway, where her vehicle struck a tree and burst into flames, according to Baltimore Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:59 a.m., when the woman’s vehicle, traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed, lost control and collided with a tree. Following the crash, the vehicle caught fire, prompting nearby motorists to intervene and pull the victim to safety.

Emergency medics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Sinai Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Baltimore Police’s Crash Team responded to the scene and is leading the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending family notification.
