FAST PLAY ticket delivers life-changing payday

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — A routine stop for a Maryland Lottery ticket turned into a multimillion-dollar moment after a Howard County man won a $2.2M FAST PLAY progressive jackpot.

The Maryland Lottery said the longtime player claimed a $2,205,023 jackpot after purchasing a FAST PLAY Ultimate Payday ticket at the Exxon station located at 6037 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.

The Howard County resident told Lottery officials he has played weekly for about 10 years, favoring FAST PLAY games and draw games such as Pick 4.

His latest win comes after an earlier $50,000 Lottery prize several years ago.

“I felt on top of the world,” the player recalled of that previous win.

After buying the FAST PLAY ticket, he scanned it and saw a message instructing him to “see Lottery,” something he recognized from his earlier big win.

He immediately called his wife with the news, and the couple celebrated after he arrived home.

The winner said they plan to use the money responsibly by saving for retirement.

The Exxon that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

Following the jackpot win, the FAST PLAY Ultimate Payday game still has eight progressive jackpots remaining. Each jackpot resets to $500,000 after it is won and increases with every ticket sold.
