Hyattsville Housekeeper Wins $50,000 in Maryland Lottery Scratch-Off

HYATTSVILLE, MD — A Prince George’s County housekeeper’s routine purchase at a local gas station turned into a $50,000 windfall, thanks to a winning Jumbo Cash scratch-off ticket.

The lucky winner, who remains unidentified, bought the $10 instant ticket at the Shell gas station on 5398 Queens Chapel Road in Hyattsville. Upon scratching her ticket, she discovered she had matched the number 34, earning her the game’s second-tier prize.

Expressing her joy, the Hyattsville woman shared with Lottery officials how exhilarating it felt to win such a significant amount. She plans to save her newfound fortune.

Launched in April, the Jumbo Cash scratch-off game offers a top prize of $250,000. There are still several large prizes up for grabs, including three $250,000 top prizes, two additional $50,000 prizes, and 16 $10,000 prizes, among others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
