HYATTSVILLE, MD — Homicide Unit detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning in an unincorporated area of Hyattsville. The incident resulted in the death of 43-year-old David Johnson.

The shooting took place on August 3, 2024, around 12:30 AM, in the 5800 block of Timber Creek Terrace. Responding officers discovered Johnson in an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are actively working to determine a motive and to identify any suspects involved in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
