Investigation Underway After Road Rage Shooting in Middletown

Middletown, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a road rage incident in Middletown that culminated in a shooting on Sunday.

The altercation, which occurred around 6:12 p.m., involved two men, a 41-year-old from New Castle and a 50-year-old from Middletown, in the 100 block of Knights Bridge Road.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident escalated rapidly, resulting in the 41-year-old man being shot in the chest. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not deemed life-threatening. No other individuals were reported injured during the altercation.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the shooting.
