In the final girls lacrosse home game in Jackson Memorial High School history, senior goalkeeper Kaelyn Dunbar etched her name into the record books by breaking the school’s all-time goalie save record.
It’s a school record that will never be broken.
The milestone came Friday night during the Jaguars’ senior night game, which also marked the last home game the school will ever host. Dunbar entered the game needing just one save to surpass the previous record. That save came early in the game , prompting a brief pause to acknowledge the achievement.
Dunbar, who had never played goalie before high school, stepped into the position during her sophomore year after the team’s original goalkeeper was lost early in the season.
“I asked someone to step up when we lost our goalie and she did with zero experience,” said the team’s varsity coach Brittany Corti, who began the same year Dunbar assumed the role. “She’s been the team’s backbone ever since.”
Over three seasons, Dunbar anchored the Jaguars’ defense and ultimately rewrote the program’s record books. Her record-breaking performance came during an emotionally charged evening celebrating the team’s seniors and closing the chapter on Jackson Memorial athletics.
The Jags defeated Brick Memorial 6-4.

The game marked not only a personal achievement for Dunbar but also a significant moment for the school community. With Jackson Memorial High School scheduled to close at the end of the academic year, Friday’s game served as the final lacrosse game held at home under the Jaguars’ name.
