JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Emergency crews responded to a transformer fire at Gil Putnam Memorial Park early Friday morning after reports of electrical equipment burning near the park on West Veterans Highway.
Police arrived first at the scene around 1:29 a.m. Friday at the park, located adjacent to Jackson State Forest at 495 West Veterans Highway. Firefighters were dispatched shortly afterward to investigate the reported transformer fire.
Utility crews restore power
JCP&L was dispatched to the scene to shut down electrical service and replace the damaged transformer.
According to scanner traffic, Jackson Station 56 responded.
Utility crews completed the repairs, and power was restored after the transformer was replaced. No injuries were reported.
