SCRANTON, PA – U.S. President Joe Biden met with several dozen constituents in his hometown of Scranton this week and declared, “My mom didn’t live in Scranton since she was 1954.”
In the official transcript provided by the White House, staffers cleared up is gaffe.
“Look, let me close with this. As you obne- — observed — I can’t hide it, Scranton fills me with enormous pride. My mom didn’t live in Scranton permanently since 1954. I swear to God, whenever she was asked, no matter where we were, “Mrs. Biden, where do you live? Where are you from?” She’d say, “Scranton.”
