TOMS RIVER-A matter of campaign finance feuding could be settled on Friday as Toms River Councilman battles the Toms River GOP club over $25,000 he claims former Ocean County Chairman George Gilmore owes him.   The money, raised by Toms River Republicans and Gilmore’s Ocean County Republican Club to fund the campaigns of Republicans in the township has been denied to Hill, who left the club earlier this year.

Now, Hill, running an opposition ticket in the June Republican primary against his former club, has sued the Toms River Republican Club over those funds.

Hill claims Gilmore denied him access to the funds in an account that was used for the club’s election campaign.  The club, however, feels Hill, is not entitled to those funds.

The matter will be heard in court on Friday.
